Alliance for Human Services

Our mission is to promote community well-being by advancing the provision of human services in Simi Valley.

Our objective is to promote the health and growth of the City of Simi Valley by initiating and sponsoring programs and activities to service community needs.

The Simi Valley Community Foundation was established in 2000 as a non-profit 501 (c) 3 charitable organization. The purpose and mission of the Foundation is to provide funding and resources to assist in the delivery of, and accessibility to, human services to those in need in the Simi Valley community. The Board of Directors consists of a diverse group of community leaders and community volunteers; including the Mayor of Simi Valley. Funding for the Foundation is through endowments, corporate and individual donations and other fundraising efforts. The primary fundraising event is the annual Mayor's Dinner and Charity Auction. The Foundation manages charitable funds for non-profit organizations, at no charge; such as funds established for loved ones that have passed away or for family members with life-threatening illnesses. This enables relatives and friends the ability to raise funds without having to create their own charitable organization. The Foundation also assists with community fundraising, and the distribution of funds or relief for disaster victims, such as: The Metrolink Victims Fund, The Tutino Scholarship Fund, and The Rachael Mofya Fund.

Alliance for Human Services
The Foundation launched the Alliance for Human Services, also known as the "Under One Roof" Project in 2004. The goal of the Alliance for Human Services is to open a facility to house multiple charitable and human services agencies "under one roof" in the Simi Valley community. The "under one roof" concept will provide families and individuals the convenience of access to human services all in one central location. Organizations that are housed in the facility will be provided with free or reduced rent, which will allow them to maximize their own fundraising dollars to offer clients greater services.
